The police presence in Lee County is hardly "oppressive".

If anything, when compared to law enforcement officers from Northern States, they're a bunch of sissies.

I agree that they are a bunch of sissies. But it seems that all they do is write tickets, meanwhile there are real criminals running around. They wouldn't actually want to do anything about that. They and their wallet might get hurt, if you catch my drift.

You're only half right about that.

The rank and file cops down here are much too Skippy Blade to be on the take.

You are wrong.

Well, let me back up. I left in 2005. But, I knew one cop and one that had just left the force. There is a large segment that is on the take. Especially in Pine Manor.

I don't know how long you've been there. But once Lee County got out of Dunbar, and Fort Myers cops moved in, there were many, many more busts. Stop and think about why.

Maybe things have changed, but Lee County was very dirty.

“ The Community Redevelopment Agency is spending thousands of dollars to have an empty trolley run around Cape Coral. Now they want to expand on a bad idea and contract for $6,000 a week for the next year; that's over $300,000, folks

I'm sure that the police, fire, or parks and recreation would like to have that money in their budget. Or this money could instead help defray the cost of the new RO water plant.

I have been living in Cape Coral for 23 years, and I'm tired of hearing about spending CRA money on "Downtown!" Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and many other cities have a downtown, but Cape Coral has no downtown .”

Also, one half (yes, as in 50%) of the street lights in the city are to be turned off.

Who knew that City Council can be so romantic !?
