I am currently staying in Port Charlotte and the temperature at noon today was 46 degrees. I checked 2 different websites, the Weather Channel & Accuweather. At the same time, I checked the zip codes for Naples & Bonita Springs where I previously resided, and the temperature was 63 degrees. How can only 60 miles make that much of a difference? I assume the proximity to the Gulf of Mexico can cause some variation, but I was surprised to see a reading below 50 in the middle of the day.

Cold front was probably coming through moving from North to south. If that was the case, even 15-20 miles can have a large temp difference. It is very cold in PC today.

Guess you're right.

I just checked and the temperature in Bonita dropped to 50 degrees, and it's 45 in Port Charlotte. So that's only a 5 degree difference.

Thank goodness we're not in Chile. I just can't imagine what it feels like to have buildings tumbling all around and the sidewalk splitting beneath you.
