Hello Floridians! I am interviewing for a job with Chico's in their corporate offices in Ft Myers. Does anybody have the inside scoop on this company? For example: What is the corporate climate? Is there a high turnover there? Do people who work there generally like their jobs?

I am soooo ready to get out of Georgia and back to Florida. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....

Oink!

I don't know anyone who does, or who knows anyone who works there, and I know A LOT of people. It sure looks nice. And a corporate office, for any large company, here? Must be doing something right.

Thanks JB - The company was started by a husband and wife who set up a boutique in Sanibel in 1983. It flourished (now almost 1100 stores nationwide), but they evidently remained in the SW Florida area. I so want this job! Wish me luck.

Good luck! I am from the area, but work brought me out of the area. I miss living there, and have also applied at Chicos.

Okay, so I had my preliminary interview yesterday. I think it went well. Next step will be to interview with the Divisional Merchandising Manager. That might not happen for 1-2 weeks! Please keep your fingers crossed for me! Hope there is no permanent damage....LOL!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend everybody

Later....

Best of luck on getting the job! Some of my classmates that I graduated with have went on to work there and have nothing but positive comments. They pack the staff in there as space is limited. A few years ago the plan was for them to move the Corp HQ to a bigger Campus (I-75 & Corkscrew) but the economy caved that decision. They have recent woes with their stockprice and a change in management (for the good).

If you can swing it try looking for housing in the gated communities/developments just behind the building (off Plantation). Those neighborhoods were some of my favorites in all of Central FTM.

Thumbs up Inside Info

Thanks for the inside scoop SWFL Native. If I get a job offer, I'll be hitting you up with lots of specific questions about the area. Based strictly on demographics I culled from this website, I've narrowed the desirable zip codes down to 33912 or 33919. Any feedback on that?

Later....
