However, I must say that everyone from our neighborhood who had satellite has gone back to Comcast.

I have digital cable and internet and just paid my bill yesterday..it was $70 and change.

Call them and tell them you want a better deal..right now they are changing packages and deals because Embarqe ( sp?) is coming in with TV , internet and phone as well. THey can't afford to lose customers so they will do what they need to to keep you. It's about time we have other providers in the area.

Would you happen to know if they offer analog phones as opposed to digital phones? if not ill just call or look on their website

Their phones run thru the cable..if your cable does out, so does your phone. My mom's has a battery back up good for 8 hours.

We had Dish Network in the NW Cape and it went out all the time - storms, a bird flying over head, whatever... it seemed like it was never working. When we bought our home (still in the NW) we switched to Comcast. We do bundle with them and we have not had any issues with the satellite cable, the internet or our home phone services.

First if all, you can get cable tv from Comcast for very little. Bear in mind, though, that you will get about 13 channels for $15 or so. Tell them you want the absolute basic.

Want the best deal possible? Call them and say you want to disconnect your service. Do it on a weekday during business hours. You must say those words. Do not ask for the best deal. Tell them you want to disconnect. You should be immediately transferred. If you do not, hang up and try again.

Best advice you will ever get. You are all welcome.

Don't ask for a deal up front. Often, they won't send you to where you need to be. And I won't say the name of the department because if you all know it, you are going to ask for it, and you will get shot down. Just tell them you want to disconnect.

We're in Dunnellon, and we stayed with DirecTV when we moved to Florida from NJ last November. We're baseball fans (particularly the NY Yankees), and Comcast didn't offer a regional sports package like DirecTV does. So we stayed with DirecTV, added Extra Innings, and get to watch the YES broadcast on Extra Innings (except when the Yankees play Tampa -- then we're forced to watch the Rays feed. We just turn the sound down and listen to the WCBS 880 feed on MLB.com).

We've had some very bad storms here this spring, but lost signal only briefly. When we do, we throw in a DVD or watch stuff we recorded on the DVR.
