Just wondering if anyone here attended Anthony Wayne school in Ft. Wayne. I attended from 1965 through 1969, then my family moved out of state.

I know that the school closed several years after that, and I wondered what year it closed for good?

Was the school torn down? I went back and tried to find it but couldn't remember the exact location, because I was only 9 years old the last time I was there.

Thanks for any information.

Melissa

Default Anthony Wayne

Melissa,

I don't know if you ever had a response to your question but I can provide you with some information about Anthony Wayne. I attended until 1964 when I went on to Portage Jr. High. Shortly after I moved to North Carolina in 2000 the school was closed and slated to be torn down. However,Canterbury, a private school, bought the property, did renovations and it is now their "lower" school.

If you were at Anthony Wayne between 1964 and 1969, you might have known my younger sister, Nancy Wolfe. She attended the school from 1962-1966.

Does this help answer your question?

Default Anthony Wayne 1958

HEllo,

I attended Anthony Wayne sometime around 1958. Mr Miller was the basketball coach and our locker area
was under the gym bleachers. I was in the 8th grade and we had a time. I caddied at the ft. wayne country club and pretty much thought I was more adult then a pre schooler. We had a art class and the teacher sent
some of our work in watercolors to the Scholastic Arts Center in N.Y. City. They sent us an award pin and we
all thought "cool"

Some of the names I remember are, The Mueller brothers, tall forwards on the bb team, Molly Duncan was not in school but I was a caddy for her, a up and comer to the pro circuit. She had a sister also. Judy Moore,
a student, Dean and Bill brothers the play ground bullies. Just the way I remember it!

Well, maybe something here will jog your memory.

I don't remember if we had a yearbook, have no idea where one might be if we did.

Thanks to Judy and Family for the birthday party invite.

God Bless You All

My family lived at 5025 Northfield Dr.

Give me a shout out fellow student...........
