You know why this was brought out? Because it was said that many of the people getting high end degrees move out of this area. You think if I had an engineering degree I'd stay here? No way! I'd move out west to work for AMD, INTEL, or one of the many other computer part manufacturers. I'd say that people that always believe what they read are the dumbest people in America. But I could be wrong, I mean it WAS USA Today, what do I know? I mean it's not like the media NEVER makes things up to get readers riled up because many are tired of Iraq and government articles.

If I can recall history accurately, Iceland was provided its given name because explorers didn't want persons moving to Iceland for all its beauty and wonder.
If the same can be said about Fort Wayne in this century, I'll buy it.
Exposes the dumb farmer - city slicker parallel very nicely.

LOL I find this view pretty amusing... We live in Tucson AZ.(city of over a million) My hubby has a 'high end' Degree in the area of Engineering/ comp science. He has a really great Job at Raytheon (our choice of employment) getting paid pretty nice. At one point the corporate offices in Mass. requested he transfer and work with them, but we felt this wasnt what we wanted. We have no intentions of leaving his company but are looking into transferring to Ft Wayne for solitude. We are fed up with the city life and would like to live somewhere we can enjoy the peace, solitude, nature, and scenery. (not what the desert has to offer, we found 5 rattlesnakes in the last 2 wks in my child's kindergarten playground) I have a feeling pretty soon the view people with degrees are leaving the area are going to start changing shortly. LOL or maybe we are just rebelling against what the general view point is

RATTLESNAKES???? Oh god, you have to leave. Sorry, but year round warmth isn't worth that. Scorpions and black widows either.

Sounds like they're picking on the Fort from the article.
Hard to argue with the red vs, blue statement though.
