market has slowed the sale of some condos around the downtown area
you might be able to rent one of those in your price range--
think that will be baseline for 2/2 apt in that area
but there are some nice areas around the museum district and the area around Hulen which would be an "ok" commute into downtown (might be public transportation as well from there)

Loves2, thank you ! Will follow up. have a beautiful day ! We are on hurricane watch ALREADY here in Hollywood(Florida)...Mr Alex is out in the Atlantic trying really hard to make it to shore. In 2005, I watched Wilma march past my fifth floor condo window...shaking my ten floor buidling like a toy for a few seconds...ripping large trees from their roots...it went black, we lost power in my area for 10 days which was a short time....I am telling you, witnessing and being in the path of that hurricane, which was only a category 3, scared me witless..nothing compared to the wrath of Katrina or Andrew however

our daughter lives on Gulf side south of Sarasota
her area has had some close calls but missed any real damage--even when Port Charlotte harbor took that bowling ball strike several years ago

keep safe...

going in far south of us--not a problem -- but hope we get some rain out of it--and hope my SIL in Victoria and my sister north of San Antonio does too
