I use Phillips Lawn Sprinkler of Fort Worth. While they are phyically located in south Fort Worth, I bet they would service your area. When I bought our house five years ago (with a sprinkler system) and happened to need the system worked on, I called Phillips (since their name and number was on the control box). The guy who came out knew where everything was on the property, since, as he told me, he was the one who installed the system ten years earlier!

Each time I have used them since (three times, I believe) they have been very good.

the last few times I have used Andy's Sprinklers--they have several phone numbers but think their office if based in Carrollton--they came to my Bedford location w/o a problem
and they have helped me out a couple of times when I needed someone quickly....
they are maybe a little higher than some companies but think their work is very good and the foreman I dealt with was professional and responsive...
have good score at Angie's List too

I am not familiar with a good company in the area you are asking for. However, whoever you choose make sure they are properly licensed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. You can read about this here Landscape Irrigation - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality - www.tceq.state.tx.us. TCEQ also has a license search at TCEQ Search Licensing or Registration Information that you can use to search for licensed Irrigators and make sure they are current on their license. If you call TCEQ they will advise you if your chosen licensee has any disciplinary actions against them.

There are a lot of people and companies out there running illegally. A licensed individual will follow all local and State laws and rules to make sure you do not run into issues later. Also properly licensed individuals are accountable to TCEQ for improper work, are easily locatable if they try to skip, and will normally not jeopardize their license by performing improperly.

Good luck on your search!

What all do you need to have done? If it's something you can fix yourself (like a broken sprinkler head or a bad solenoid on a valve), I strongly recommend doing it yourself. A lot of these companies will charge you out the wazzoo just to come out to your house.

Our system had a bad solenoid on the master valve. The fuse would blow the second the system tried to start. I called around and couldn't find anybody to come out to the house for less than $50 (just to show up). I did some research on my own and found the master valve. I then went to Lowe's, spent $10 on the solenoid, and fixed it myself.
