Hi everyone. I will be moving to Dallas from New York City sometime this fall but I have no idea where to go. I have a job already as a mail carrier and will be working in Fort Worth or Arlington (I still have to decide). Is there anyone who can advise me where should I look for an apartment to rent (I'm interested in a clean and safe area with good schools and easy commute to my job). What should I be aware of? How much the rent could be for a 2 bedroom 2 bath apt?

Every opinion would be greatly appreciated!

If you decide to land in Arlington, look at apartments on the north side of town. There are nice gated apartment communities along Green Oaks Blvd and the northern areas north of Green Oaks along 360. That area is very safe and offers amenities like garage parking. It's where my family landed temporarily while looking for a home here back in 2008. Both my me and my wife worked in NYC, like you, before we moved down, btw.

If you want a decent apartment AND good schools are a high priority for RIGHT NOW, consider looking in Bedford, which is just north of Arlington.

That my $0.02.

who knows--
lots of apts on craigs list

someone posted info about 2 apt communities in n arlington but frankly that would not be area for good schools

resonable priced apts in good school area would be HEB ISD area--
where ISDs would be HEB, Birdville, or Grapevine Colleyville-don't think Keller ISD in that area has apts

some parts of FTW ISD MIGHT have good schools/apt mix--but big variables there
south part of Arlington in the MARTIN hs zone is considered the better housing area

just depends on your price point--
