Hello ~ We are planning on taking the train from Dallas to Ft. Worth and was wondering if there is anything to do in the downtown/Sundance Square area for kids 5 and under? Thanks!

Hmmm.... Most of Sundance Square is shopping, entertainment and restaurants/bars. There is one really good western art museum downtown (Sid Richardson) but it's not particularly kid-friendly.

Here's the official website so you can see what's going on:

I will say that the Fort Worth Zoo is EXCELLENT for kids of all ages and isn't far from downtown FW.

Also, the Japanese Garden just across I-30 is a lot of fun for kids and is really pretty this time of year. They have a big pond full of huge koi that kids love to feed. Bring a handful of quarters for the fish food feeders!

IN Sundance Sq there is not really anything specifically for kids to do except get pushed around in strollers while their parents sightsee/shop/eat/drink
it is pleasant--there are some trees and some shape but
if you are planning on going to the Zoo or maybe event he Science Museum which is great
you would have to take cabs from the TRE station/downtown

I have 2 kids under 5 years old, hardly much to do in Sundance Square, take them to the Fort Worth Zoo, one of the best rated zoo's in the country. Right next to the Zoo, there's also the Botanical Gardens, and Trinity River Park, where they have a steam engine train ride (about 45 mins long), and my kids love that.

You will however, need to arrange for transportation from downtown fort worth to the zoo area unfortunately!.
