There's a song by The Redwalls (off their Universal Blues album) called "Balinese" that I think you'd like. It starts off with "Deep in the Heart of Texas." I actually like the whole album from the Redwalls. They sound almost exactly like The Beatles.

So where did you end up eating when you arrived to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?

we were very tired that we didn't eat
We arrived in DFW at 9:00.
baggage + rent car.....

For luck we have our GPS.... even if when we have opened it.... panic because it did't start.
After 15 minutes... It was ok!

We arrive later to our B&B at Stockyards but it was all ok!

I had a feeling you would be so tired from the very long trip that you would just go back to your Hotel and fall asleep. I would probably have done the same.

Sometimes GPS systems take a while to start up and then get linked to the satellite and such. My dad's GPS is like that. It just takes a minute.

Glad it all worked out for you in the end. How did you drive around in the rental car? Do you or your husband have an international driver's license?

One year, for the first time in USA, I and my husband have did a international driver's license.
Here, It's only a payment of driving licence tax. During 1 year.

The others time, we didn't have it but this year, I have writed at Alamo Custome Service and they have told me it's necessary.
In this case, this license has had only my husband but when we arrived at Alamo in DFW airport... the Customer Service has demande us only italian driver's license.

This time, when the sheriff stopped us, He wanted an italian driver's license.

The first difficulty for us is to get use to the automatic "change".... I don't remember the exactly word...

In all cases, The new international driver's license has a validity for 3 years.

I see, minniemouse. If I recall, Italians also drive on the right side of the road, like in the US. What did you think of driving in Texas and Texan drivers in general compared to driving in Italy?
