Moving to FW in a couple of weeks & need to decide on an internet provider. I'm tied into Directv & don't need a home phone, so this will be an internet only deal.
I'm seriously considering Clear, but would appreciate comments & opinions on Clear, as well as other providers.

I use Clear, since I am frequently on the go.

It's amazing in some areas and lackluster in others. I haven't had any issues in Downtown Dallas, Houston, or in Arlington. Plano and Irving are hit or miss. I believe they're trying to improve coverage, though.

Check out the coverage map on the website. It should tell you whether or not your area is covered by 4G or 3G (or not covered at all).

First off, I would like to say that I'm an independent contractor for Clear. But even I'm disappointed with their coverage.

If you are looking to be mobile and have internet wherever you go, then Clear is a good option. But if you only need internet at home, I'd look elsewhere. Don't pay any attention to the coverage map on their website, even if it shows an area as being covered, the signal will be weak unless you are very close to a tower. The coverage tends to be so spotty it's frustrating. For example, today I was going to pass out flyers advertising service about Clear's 4G wireless internet. I went to the apartments located at Northern Cross and N. Beach, just south of 820. I chose this location because of the clear tower at Northern Cross & Haltom Rd. When I was on Beach I had a great signal, but once I drove into the apartment complex the signal average between 1-2 bars. With such a weak signal it's practically useless. One last thing, the ping time on Clear is just terrible, even when I have a great signal I still have ping times that are >350 ms.

Thanks, everyone. With reviews like these, I wonder how the heck they stay in business!

I am only looking for home service, as I don't have a laptop or smartphone. I guess my next best option is ATT. I would probably have to go with a lower tier of service since budget is a consideration, especially after the teaser rate expires. Any comments / thoughts?
