Hi,

I recently finished my relocation from Europe to the Ft.Worth area. After all the hassle as a non-resident alien with authorities, bank etc. I'm now ready to check out the nightlife. Two of my buddies will visit me soon. All of us just turned 30. More or less. And we are used to alternative rock music: papa roach, trust company, chevelle, three days grace, sum41 etc. and all that European crap that I can't remember at the moment

Is there a bar/club that you can recommend that might play some of that music?

Thx,
Andreas

For Fort Worth you may want to check out the Aardvark and see what shows they have going on there. In Dallas you might have luck looking up Trees or Club Dada. Honestly though those bands you named are too terribly popular anymore so you may have a hard time finding some good places that play music like that. I can't speak too much on the subject of cause I haven't kept in the know as far as alt rock goes in the past years but I would check into those places and see if they have some bands y'all might like.

Thanks! I will check that one out...

What about a night club / bar / lounge, where a DJ might play such music?

Most clubs that would host that type of music will be in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. Check out the aforementioned Dada and Trees, as well as Curtain Club, The Door and Reno's. Although Deep Ellum has gone down hill in the past couple of years, there is still a bit of night life there and a very strong local rock scene.

For some good live music google The Pour House, 7th Haven (dive bar), Aardvark, Flying Saucer, 8.0 and Fat Daddy's. For a DJ type bar you should check out Bar 9 downtown or Red Goose. Here are a few links >>> Reviews | Ft. Worth Nightlife | Fort Worth Nightlife
