My husband and I made a trip from CA to Fortworth to look at homes this past weekend. We were lucky to have GREAT waether! We had a realtor who took us to Flower Mound, Bartonville, Argyle, Prosper, Little Elm and Highland Village. The neighborhood and homes I really liked were in Bartonville and Argyle. Now that I'm back home, I'm wondering how far out Argyle is from convenience stores. I don't need to be close to everything but don't want to drive 20 minutes to a grocery store. Anyone familiar with this area and the shopping around here (Target, grocery store, etc..) I have two kids and the public schools seem to be close enough. Thanks!

I think the closest shopping and restaurants to Argyle are in Roanoke. It's probably a 15 minute drive or so. There's a Wal-mart and an Albertsons at the intersection of 377 & 114. I'm not sure which Target would be closest to Argyle.

Not sure which side of Argyle you're looking in, but you could either go to Roanoke for your shopping (like mentioned above) or Flower Mound/Highland Village area, which is right up 407. We have family in that area and drive in every weekend. 407 can get backed up in peak hours, so be prepared...but the area has pretty much everything you'll need (shopping, restaurants, etc), plus Vista Ridge Mall off of 35E

Argyle is only about 10 minutes south of Denton, a much larger town with many more choices..

The areas I am looking at are close to Liberty Christian Sxhool. I also found a house I like over at Crawford and the 35.
Are there any other towns that are similar to Argyle and still within 45 minutes to airport?
Thanks for the response.

I recently moved from Argyle (less than a mile from Liberty Christian). It is a beating to have to drive 15 minutes to get to the nearest supermarket, Home Depot, etc. The area is gorgeous, but the driving wears on you. Property taxes are great, though.

15 minutes?! That's it? No offense, but that is nothing. Some people drive alot further than that, I being one of them.

Hmmm, I used to attend Liberty Christian a long time ago, I am a little surprised it is still around.

Honestly...15 mins isn't that big of a deal for grocery store. You sometimes have to make a trade off either completely suburia with a grocery store five mins away or being a little way out and it taking a little longer.

We are about 15 mins from the grocery store and it isn't bad at all. We are 15 from the grocery store and town, but about 40 mins from pretty much everything. On weekends we will be in the middle of 377 with all the traffic thanking out lucky stars we aren't in all that mess.

Guingirl, I think you and I are twinkies. We are in the exact same position.
