I will be moving back to the Fort Worth area in a month or so. In the time I have lived in (10 years) Florida my daughter and I have come to love Japanese food and especially Sushi.

We have found a couple places here, our favorite is a family owned place where you can order off menu and they will make whatever kind of roll you want.

I was in Texas over the summer and tried two places in Burleson, one was OK the other was not my kind of thing. My friend introduced me to Pirahana
which I liked.

Do you guys have any other ideas?? I don't care much about the ambiance, the places in Burleson were more about what they looked like then the selection of food.

I like the more family owned, hole in the wall kind of places, rather then the kind of places where you go to be seen and see others.

If you've eaten sushi in Burleson, it was probably at Sushi Axiom, and there are 2 in FW also. One is just off of Hulen, south of Central Market, and the other one is in the Montgomery Ward center on 7th. They're very popular.

There is also Blue Sushi on 7th near Eddie V's. It's definitely a "see and be seen" kind of place. I'm trying to think of any hole in the wall sushi places, because I know they're all over town, but I can't vouch for any right off the top of my head. Sorry, I guess I'm not much help.

Edohana is decent. I think they might have a location in Ft. Worth.

There are two in Burleson, one was right next to Firehouse subs that faces I'35 and the other one is across I'35 on the other side. The one on the opposite side of the highway from Burleson and I preferred that one.

It might be that while I am out and about town, I will see the hole in the wall kind of places and just stop in. That's how I discovered the ones here in the Orlando area that I like.

Edohana Hibachi & Sushi - EDOHANA.COM

I found they do have one on South Hulen. Thanks, I will check them out. Their website looks pretty good as well. Their prices are reasonable as well.

I forgot...I had lunch at the one on Bryant Irvin just the other day. Duh. It's good, but it smells like hibachi. I don't think the Edohana on Hulen has the hibachi. I used to get take-out from there often.

There's another sushi place in the 6333 Camp Bowie center...can't think of the name. Some of my friends like it.

I'm having lunch today at Blue Sushi....the "in" place on 7th. Will report back!

I love Cowtown Sushi, which is in Southlake (which I guess is not technically Ft Worth, but it's my favorite "local" place).

You already mentioned Pirahna Sushi which is probably my favorite. Someone else mentioned Sushi Axiom and I have several friends who rave about that place, both the locations in Dallas and FW...I had no idea they built one in Burleson. Learn something new everyday. Fin Shushi Lounge on Cedar Springs in Dallas is very good, I have been to that one, it is also owned by the same company as Sushi Axiom.

Piranha Killer Sushi is okay. You recognize this brand by the image of globefish (it looks like that fish to me, never ask anybody though :P)

I don't like sushi cuz it's tOO expensive!! lolz
You know, there is a bunch of Asian markets that sells sushi, shashimi, and many many other raw food. And I'm sure they're tasted exactly the same. There is one big supermarket in Carrollton called Super H-Market. I like this place the most, where I can have real sushi/shashimi with a reasonable price :P
