I may be getting a job well into south Fort Worth near I-35 and Everman Pkwy. I really don't know that area at all. If I get what I'm expecting, my budget for rent will be around $800/mo. I'm 29 and single so entertainment is more important to me than school zones and such. The catch is I have two labrador retrievers so I need a place that'll allow them. If it has a private yard, that's a big plus. It's also a plus if it's eastward close to I-20 for when I visit Dallas and my home area, but I don't want to drive more than 15 or 20 minutes to work. Where are some good neighborhoods that pretty well fit these criteria?

If I move, it'll be next week so I could really use some answers. I'm curious about the neighborhoods from Benbrook to Kennedale and around the southern part of Lake Arlington. I'm also interested in the area just south of downtown if it's not a far drive from Everman Pkwy.

check crime maps for what police report is going on in areas

check craigs list--rentals show up there for homes

your dogs are big even though not considered "dangerous" to most people like pit bulls or some other dogs
you are likely to be asked for higher pet deposit than smaller dogs--they go by weight sometimes

I would say the area around Hulen/Bryant Irwin would be better than the east side of the 820 loop
you might also consider north part of Arlington around Green Oaks and 157--lots of apts along there
don't know about apts around The Parks mall

Recommend you look in 76017 or 76014. I'd stay east of Cooper (157). Will DM you a link that is great for rental searches by map. The Benbrook area and around Hulen and 1-20 is nice but farther into Dallas.

Well it looks like I won't be working in Fort Worth after all. I'm happy to say I found a significantly more promising job in Dallas. I'll probably be posting another thread in that forum after I do a little research and get some ideas.
