The Fort Worth Business Press is reporting that Hulen Mall is expanding by adding an outdoor plaza. The plaza will contain Abuelo's Mexican Food Home Page and BJ's Brewhouse http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/ with space for two more restaurants.

I don't really count that as the MALL expanding--there is no retail shopping going on there
whether those eaters/drinkers will use the mall before or after--probably some of the time but I would not count on adding those spaces and seeing an automatic gain in mall revenue

there are restaurants around NE Mall and we go there to eat w/o doing any shopping--and conversely go to the Mall w/o eating/drinking at one of the restaurants

Nordstrom was originally supposed to open a location at this mall when they first entered the texas market (5 full line stores were planned, 2 racks). I wonder if that is still a vision of either the mall or Nordstrom?

I think the Southwest ... er I mean Chisholm Trail Parkway will be a boost for Hulen Mall. Especially if there's reasonable access from the Parkway. I live in far SW Fort Worth and going to Hulen Mall is painful right now. Not so when the Parkway is finished...

Same here, takes about 45 minutes for me to get to Hulen. The thing that I wonder though since the Chisholm Trail Pkwy is coming from Cleburne I don't think it is going to help out a whole lot for people west/southwest of Cleburne. If you are coming from the west on 67, it is a two lane road and there are always semi trucks, lots of them. Whether you take 377 north or the CTP, the distance/time probably will be about the same? Guess we'll have to wait and see. But I hear you, the traffic in Benbrook and 20 by the mall is a headache.
