Just approved 8% Tarrant County college tax increase.....

In the end, the total annual increase for a home valued at 130k is about $15. Giving up the cost less than the cost of one dinner out is a small price to pay for maintaining a solid community college system as far as I am concerned. That being said, this might be a little easier to swallow if TCC hadn't just finish building a $1500 per square foot downtown campus that it really doesn't need. For reference, the new WTC tower in Manhattan is only running $1200 per square foot in one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country.

letter to the editor in todays FTW paper about the lack of leadership (and to me intelligence) on the TCCC board--
people rarely pay attention to whom they vote for when there is election for the Board's spots--but any authority with power to tax should get lot of attention when you go to vote
