In and around the Ft. Worth area, is it very difficult to get a teaching job if you choose an ACP program to receive certification? Any advice would be appreciated, especially if you got your certification that way and found a job. Thanks in advance.

if you are refering to a program for alternative certification for teaching then YES--it is very difficult to get a teaching job that leads to full certification--
run a search on this forum or any other in TX and see what people say about alt-cert teaching opportunities

I taught with some people in English and knew other teachers in fields like Math and History who came into teaching with alt-cert credentials--that was years ago
and I do not think with the problems in education now that principals want to risk hiring someone who is not fully certified (because it is a negative on the TAKS school evaluation) especially when there are enough fully qualified people looking for work

IMO most of the alt-cert programs are money makers for the people who own them--not for the people who pay for the training

Is this still the case for ACPs?

Seems like Math, Science, Bilingual and Special Ed teachers are doing well.

I did ACP 6 years ago and got a job within weeks. I went through "Texas Teachers" which was pretty painless. Probably didn't hurt that I wanted to teach math 4-12 and already had a Master's degree. First job was teaching 5 th grade math.
