I got a link to a yahoo story that is interesting about some of the new laws that went into effect today Shooting hogs from helicopters and fishing with your hands: five new Perry-approved laws in Texas | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

It should go in a general texas forum, but this is the subforum I use and I thought some here would get a kick from it.

I do not see the "kick" when it comes to ferral hogs which are not only destructive and agressive but object to being shot. Ask any farmer around here. K-Bar hunts may be fun in FL but they do not take care of business. Have you ever seen what damage a boar can do to a car, a field - let's not get into other details.

I know what a pest they are, mean enough to make you climb a tree.
I just never saw anyone lazy or rich enough to hunt them from helicopters. In Ga. some people use pit bulls to run them down and take them alive, then they grain feed them to soften them up, then they eat them.
I guess the farmers don't want much lead in their fields or they would be using 50 cal machine guns like the hueys in vietnam...

I love that you can drive 85....most people do occasionally and not to have to fear a ticket would be nice.

not sure about the gun at work thing...would make you wonder when disgruntled worker tells boss "lemme go to my car for something, be right back", what might happen next.
though keeping it in your car is good so you can have it with you when you arrive home.
