Here's the background. I am renting a house via a property management company. The diswasher got stuck on the wash cycle October 23rd. It ran for 5 hours before I noticed that it just kept going to the wash cycle. I started trying to contact the property manager at that point. She finally contacted me back on October 26th, and had a repair company call me. I was unavailable for them to fix the dishwasher on the 29th when they wanted to come out, but made arrangements for them to come the following weekend (November 5th). They never called or showed up. I got in touch with the property manager again on November 7th and again, made arrangements for the repair company to come out this past weekend, November 13th. The repair man looked at the dishwasher and said it would have to be replaced, they would order a new one, and it would be installed this week.

I just got off the phone with both the repair company AND the property manager, and the homeowners have decided they want to find someone to fix/replace it themselves. They did not say when, or who would call me, or give the property manager any information other than they'll do it themselves. Additionally, the homeowners supposedly have moved to Mexico, so how are they supposed to fix it from another country??

What exactly is the law regarding this? I've been without a dishwasher for 3.5 weeks already. I'm not trying to act spoiled; I'm more than capable of washing dishes by hand, but Thanksgiving is next week AND the dishwasher is part of my rental agreement, is it not? I'd like to know what my tenant rights are, if any, in this situation. If anyone can answer, I'd really appreciate it!
