Does anyone have information on this gated community? Pros? Cons?

*Some info on me: my husband and I are current homeowners in South Irving. We are almost at the 3-year mark in our HUD home and are tossing around the idea of taking that equity and buying a more "permanent" house. We have 2 kids so the school district is important; and I work in North Irving, husband works remotely for the most part. Budget? Around $350k.

Great area. Good for commutes. Handy to shopping. Zones to Bear Creek Elementary which is a good school (we personally know 2 families there from kids sports). Their only complaint is parental/volunteer involvement is lower at BCE than at other GCISD elementaries. It also zones to Heritage Middle and CHHS. Looks like the HOA maintains yards which is a nice perk.

It looks like homes are $130-$140 for sq ft! Is this reasonable for the area? Seems a bit steep.

Also, I meant to add that what really makes this community stand out to me is the fact that each house seems different (for example, there's a cape cod style next to a traditional).

I like the Bear Creek area a lot and very convenient to N. Irving.

How is the commute from here to 635/Macarthur?

(Right now I have to take the George Bush to/from S. Irving... and it is a NIGHTMARE, especially around 5:30. And I have to pay the toll to sit in traffic!

Getting from the west side of DFW Airport to the east side isn't easy. There are no public roads that cut across the runways! You will have to get to 183 or 114 to go around to get to 635/MacArthur.

Now that I'm looking at it on the map, it looks like there's powerlines running all along Gateway (right next to that neighborhood!) Any ideas? Is this a no-go?

There is one public road that cuts across the airport E-W .. South Airfield Drive, accessible from Walnut Hill on the east, Cheek-Sparger on the west, or the service road N/S
