actually you might consider blaming the management of the apt complex that decided to start taking section 8 clients to get tax breaks and maximize their profits
they don't live in that area and obviously did not care what doing that did to the area

You know love2read there is so much potential for the Woodhaven area and the city needs to go in and clean the area up. It was one of the more unique areas of Fort Worth with all those apartments sitting on that big hill. I use to love living in the apartments in there area as a child. Since the area around Woodhaven is growing rapidly with 200,000 + homes I see those communities putting pressure on the City Council to get that area cleaned up. I love the diversity in the new subdivisions off John T. White lots of whites, blacks, and Asian families occupy those homes.

I am interested in a few of the townhomes in this area. I know that it has a bad reputation, however reading through different articles it seems things are starting to turn it around. Is this true? It just looks like a great value for the size, and they seem overall well kept. I know that the apartments are a definate issue, but I am hoping that the area is starting to get better. I am too looking for some updated valuable feedback.

My uncle lived in those beautiful homes that backed up to those apartments in Woodhaven and was murdered in his home in 2001. Do not go near that neighborhood! Those nice homes are like the lottery to those losers... and theyre just a hop, skip and jump away.

article in today (1/12) FTW paper about man in Woodhaven area who had put surveillence cameras up to check outside of his house because of crime in this area
he saw people trying to break into his car parked on the street--
went out to accost them (not smart idea but said they thought it was kids doing it) and the burglar came at him
they fought--the man got cut--went back into his house and the burglar tried to get into the house unsuccessfully--but was very aggressive

so I think this area is just too borderline--anyone who can afford a better area has better choices...

Woodhaven is scary. As a former East side resident I feel like I'm qualified to comment. We are considering moving back, because of the convenience of interstate 30 and the proximity to downtown Ft.worth. However Ft. Murder Worth is a scary place to live . I believe the police response time is close to two hours and the general consensus is they're to scared to do anything so crime is high. I grew up in Cooked Meadow and out of the kids I grew up with you know in a 1 mile radius 5 out of nine got shot or died of other unnatural causes. Really makes me wish there was a zoning law or stronger police presence. But yea ft. Murder worth. Make sure you have protection

Absolutely not! The houses are gorgeous near the oakmont area and high woods trail but nearby is some of the most absolute worst crime ridden apartments in the entire dfw metroplex.

You may be fine there if schools aren't a factor and you can have big rottweiler guarding your house. You'll have to leave to go shopping one day and for that I say, Run! Run far, far away
