I am a traveling nurse and will be starting a 3 month assignment in Denton, Tx next week. I am curious as to where people in their late 20's-30's live in this town. I would prefer not to live in an apartment over-run by college students. Also, I will be traveling with a dog so being pet-friendly is a must. I also will need for it to be furnished as well. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "high-end" apartment but a nicer safe area would be nice! I am open to commuting from a surrounding town of Denton but not too far as I know traffic can get very congested. Thanks in advance!

I think you will have a difficult time getting a 3 mo rental--apt complexes are usually pretty full in Denton because of all the u-students
you will be paying a higher monthly rent too if you can get a 3 mo lease
you might try Craigs list for a sublet but don't know how lucky that will be--most people want those during the summer when they might not be in school...
you are coming before college is out...

more expensive units would be less likely to have college students probably
but you don't give you ceiling price...
you might have to take an extended stay hotel to get something furnished
some of them allow pets

Look at a map to the EAST--
towns to west are all too small/rural to have much in way of apts

I-35 east or west side is horrible way to commute--

Look in Lewisville. You will probably have more luck finding a short-term rental there. It's about a 20-minute drive to Denton.
