I think so too. It would be great if everyone could focus on that.

OK.... getting back on track (no pun intended), I gotta say, even though we're not getting streetcars or the same type of light rail that Dallas and Houston have (actually, this is commuter rail, not light rail), I'm happy to see something here. I've been on this since freshman year, when it was called the "Se2Ne". The tracks are already there and for me, it's a bonus to know that it STARTS just down the street from my neighborhood [Sycamore School/Crowley].

The only stations that are already built are the T&P and ITC stations downtown. Everything else will have to be built. I'm gonna try and find those stations. I swear, somethin's wrong with the website.

Also, this isn't the only rail line Fort Worth is on right now. Kdogg already knows and can back me on this one, but there's a proposed line that's supposed to go through the east side of the city as well.

It'll look a bit different...

All these Texas cities are getting rail. Now if we could just get high speed rail to connect the cities i would be very excited.

That would really unify the Texas Triangle. With all the supercommuters, there is already a need for it

The interesting thing about the Eastside line is it goes from downtown to the historic Handley district. Just beyond the Handley district is Arlington, Texas and HEB (Hurst, Euless, & Bedford). So what I suspect is a huge push from the Eastside to get a light rail system. HEB likely will join them in the effort but Fort Worth strategically chose the Handley district because Arlington is literally right up the road. So I suspect in the future there will be a strong push to get Arlington on board. Either way it goes the Handley area is poised to see significant urban growth. I can see it in the future being similar to West & 7th if the city redevelop the area right.
