Check out Bella Ranch in southwest Fort Worth. Several Alcon employees live in that area. It's Aledo ISD - great district for the kids. It's a new neighborhood - gated, 1-acre lots, would be at the top of your price range. Bella Communities

My wife and I moved to FW 5 months ago to take a job with Alcon, and our budget was similar to yours. I spent many days looking at houses in Fairmount, Ryan Place, Mistletoe Heights, Ridgmar, Crowley, Burleson, Overton South, Candleridge, Mansfield and Ridglea (Berkeley was outside our price range). We looked at about 80 houses before finally purchasing a house in Ridglea North, just north of Camp Bowie. I am happy to report that the house was well worth the effort, and we love the neighborhood. My commute to work is 15 minutes, and we can walk to restaurants, a grocery store, a Starbucks and a park within a few blocks of our house. We also have easy access to the cultural district.

Most of the houses we liked best were in Ridglea Hills or Ridglea North, although we also really liked Ryan Place.

Burleson is closer to Alcon, but I can't stand gridlock and the traffic often seems backed up on that route during rush hours. Burleson seemed like a fine place to live, but we discovered that we really love Fort Worth and we are enjoying our proximity to everything the city has to offer. Our schools are not comparable to Tanglewood/Paschal, but we don't have kids yet and ultimately decided not to pay the additional cost for that area. Our HS is Arlington Heights.

By the way, Alcon is a great place to work - I hope you join us!

Welcome to FW!!! I love that neighborhood too! You are so right about all the amenities and the easy commute to Alcon. You'll be able to figure out the school situation when the time comes. You are smart not to sweat about it yet. Just enjoy that great neighborhood now!
