As a potential buyer that's the guy we want to work with.

We're eying a pier and beam 1920s house that is rundown looking yet livable. Need to know exactly what we would be getting into if we bought it. We don't need any expensive surprises . Need someone who is very thorough and experienced with old homes.

Any recommendations?

You don't want an Inspector that sellers fear. You want an Inspector who is knowledgeable, thorough and tells it like it is without making issues where there are none.

Inspectors that sellers (and agents) fear are the crappy ones.

We agents only want the best for our clients. Some people will disagree but if you have a good RE agent, they should have an Inspector they recommend who they know will do you a good job.
