After four exhausting days of apartment hopping in Fort Worth we still cannot make a decision. We really like the White Settlement area (seems very quiet) but there are no apartments we liked (or we did not find).

So far we like the Firestone buildings best. Once at home we were shocked to see the really bad reviews on apartment ratings.com. We know that these are not always accurate, but les than 50%... Hopefully one of the readers can give us an honest update on this place.
Also other areas and dog friendly places (preferable not downtown) are very welcome.
Thanks in advance.

you don't provide enough information about what rent you can pay--where you are working for your commute--what type of complex you want (singles, familes)

We are looking for a one or two bedroom. I will be working in the cultural district and my girlfriend might end up working in Dallas and therefore needs to commute by train or car. We really do not want to pay more than 1200 a month. As mentioned; safety, dog friendly and covered parking are important for us. I also think we want to move in with a short term lease, this we we can find a better place when we know the city a bit better.
Thank you for your reply.

White Settlement to Dallas will be a horrible commute...at least 1.5 HOURS by car in rush hour traffic!! Traffic eastbound on I-30 is very heavy in the AM! The TRE leaves from downtown FW, so even to take the rain, she'd still have to get to downtown FW.

You'd be wiser to look at the mid-cities (Irving, H-E-B) to keep the commute down.

The Fort Worth to Dallas commute along I-30 is horrible. Avoid at all costs. However, going the other way -- Dallas to Fort Worth -- is not bad at all. So, living somewhere in between the cities might make sense for both parties. Your commute might be longer than you'd like but shouldn't be too traffic-choked and your significant other's commute won't be so hellish and they won't be in a murderous mood when arriving home.

And you'll have to move all those tires around to find someplace to sleep. :P
