I own my own cupcake business and am trying to expand. I do the baking out of my home with the proper certification under the Texas Cottage Law. My budget is small, but I do have some advertising out there and my facebook page is growing - but I would like to draw in even more potential customers. I know one way to do this is to give back to the community.

Does anyone have ideas of where I could donate cupcakes as samples with a few of my cards? I have to be careful because with the law there are certain restrictions - like I cannot sell my cupcakes at shows unless I rent a certified kitchen, certain toppings are prohibited etc. I would really just like to bring in customers and be able to give back to the community.

Any ideas/advice is appreciated!

Thank you!

What area are you hoping to focus on first to grow your business?

I am looking to grow in the Fort Worth - Mid Cities area. I am in Hurst, so probably draw from Mid Cities first, then go into Fort Worth.

Teachers will be going back to school soon for in-service
and PTAs will be in schools as well
I would contact the individual schools in your areas--
elementary first since there are more parties there usually
and talk to the secretary about donating to teacher's lounge
or maybe someone with the PTA as prize at registration

Hurst has senior citizen center off Pipeline and Colleyville has its senior citizen center off Glade I think
but don't know if that would be the most bang for your buck since seniors might be more concerned with cutting back in this economy
