Are there neighborhoods with access to the Trinity Trails that don't require crossing major roads?

I am probably getting assigned to a long-term project in Forth Worth, and my company prefers getting apartments on long-term projects to hotels. Most of my work will be in the medical district (near Fairmount on the map), but I don't mind driving to work.

What I do like is being able to bike or jog out of the apartment and be on the trail soon and without dealing with major traffic. Is this possible anywhere? Budget would be max $2k/month for rent.

I grew up in Dallas and recall liking the Camp Bowie Blvd area. Also heard that the area between that area and downtown has been developed. Is this possible there?

There are some apartments in the West 7th area that will allow you direct access to the Trinity Trails. Basically, any of the ones south of 7th and north of Lancaster will have this access. You will still have to drive to work from there since its too far from the medical district to walk, and you'd have to cross I30. Unfortunately, those apartments are not cheap, and you will use most of that $2000 budget...

Anything off Hulen near Bellaire will have access; in fact you don't even have to cross Hulen as there is a trail that goes right under Hulen. Marquis at Bellaire Ranch is right next to an access point to the Trinity Trails and a connector trail to Overton Park, which is a fantastic place to run. Especially if you plan to run after dark as the trails can be hard to use in the dark. There are also a bunch of apartments near Overton Park that I'm sure are in your budget.

That area would prob be 10 mins from the medical district and is less crazy than the 7th street area.

I 2nd this advice for several reasons. If you're planning to be here in the summer you might enjoy running along the Overton park trails more than the Trinity. The former is MUCH more shaded and prettier as well. It's about 6 miles end to end. The other reason is there is now a pedestrian trail underneath the new Hulen bridge (the one that crosses the Trinity River), which makes for some nice options to vary up your routes. For cycling, the Trinity's mileage can't be beat in FW.

By the way, the overton and trinity trails connect via a short trail that cuts under Hulen and Bellaire, so being close to Hulen and Bellaire would give you good access to both trail areas.
