We lived in Ft. Worth for 3 years back from 2004-2006 on the SW side. We loved it there. There were plenty of things to do but at the time we didn't have tons of extra money to spend on entertainment. I have heard from a few people that they have done alot of changes to the city itself and there's more to do now. Is it pretty family friendly still? What new things are there to do that weren't there before? We are people that like to do outdoor activities and love going downtown to do stuff. We love live music and concerts, festivals, farmers markets, etc.

Fort Worth Zoo is family-friendly, Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and Water Gardens might bore the kids but still that is family friendly, there are no Shopping centers in Fort Worth (don't know any there), but there is many attractions at Grapevine Mills which is in Dallas County, it has a Legoland, Sea Life Aquarium and all sorts of stuff, which is also family-friendly, Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington is Rated PG-13, because normally whenever I go there, Teenagers (like me), cuss out a lot. A family friendly water park located in North Richland Hills, Texas which have rides and slides that are appropriate for all ages. So pretty much nearby cities of Fort Worth are somewhat family-friendly.

Grapevine Mills is in Tarrant County, and Fort Worth has shopping malls: Ridgmar, Hulen, Alliance Town Center (outdoors, walkable).

Yeah, it's definitely Tarrant. Can't really go by phone numbers anymore. I live in Ft. Worth proper and my phone number is still 214 because I haven't changed it from when I lived in Dallas several years ago.
