Non-chain, local places: Reata, III Forks, Silver Fox, Kirby's

All of the typical national chains: Del Friscos, Ruth Chris, Bob's, Capital Grill, Mercury Chop House, Saltgrass

Capital Grille in downtown Fort Worth may be part of a national chain, but it's far from "typical." It's the best restaurant I've patronized in D/FW in a long, long time.

For an excellent old style steak dinner head to Cattleman's Steak House in the Ft Worth stockyard district.
