I'm fairly new at fishing and have fallen in love with it....I've been in Fort Worth about 3 years and got my first fishing license!! The problem is that I just haven't been able to find a great spot to fish yet. Does anyone who has been here for a while know of any good spots to fish in the Fort Worth area that you dont have to pay $10 to get into the park to fish? Where are the spots that dont have contamination warnings, or warnings that you must not keep the fish that you catch, or simply charge an unreasonable fee to get into the park just to fish?

Default Try Hurst Chisholm Park

Chisholm Park is located on Norwood, just north of Harwood in Hurst. There is a small community pond there that participates in a statewide stocking program. They receive channel catfish from mid-April through early November and rainbow trout from early December until late March. The fish are generally 12" in length and are stocked every two weeks. There aren't any really big fish, but if you just want to catch a few catfish or trout with ease, this is a nice place to go. There is no fee to fish here, it's quiet and most people you run into are very friendly. Try it out sometime! The link below will take you to the schedule for upcoming trout stockings.
