My family and I are considering a move to the metroplex area from Phoenix, Az. The housing market here has bottomed out. I install windows and doors for Home Depot and Lowe's. Im told that the housing and remodeling areas of the economy are very strong in Texas. Is this true? If anyone can shed some lite on this, I would appriciate it
Thanks Chris Phoenix

I would say that it is very strong. In fact, Fort Worth is the fastest growing city in America with a population over 500,000. Best of luck!

Yes ~ The DFW area does have a very strong job market. The housing market seems to be better than quite a few areas of the rest of country.

Yes! Housing is still going great guns around here. My house went up almost 10% this year, which is great except for property taxes, which are outlandish.

How is the economy in the Valley (Phx) these days? I have heard about the real estate crash but also the economy there was still OK - with unemployment below 3%.

Thumbs down economy

i personally think the economy in dallas fw sucks as does the way of life. the air is incredibly polluuted, the taxes sky high, the traffic terrible, there seem to very few high paying jobs for a city this size. and a lot of **** kickers in trucks lol rude as can be. most folks friendly though. sorry just my opinion. boy the houses are nice and cheap though.unfortunately they get you through the ridiculous prop taxes
