County Tax: 0.646277
ISD: 1.608000

Total: 3.11

The houses are cheaper than within the city of Keller. So you get more house and may not need to spend as much...
I hope you don't mind me taking advantage of your expertise - would you happen to know the property tax structure for areas surrounding Plano? My husband might be transferred there and I was curious as to what the rates are.

Thank you for your kindness, I appreciate it very much.

No problem at all Trailing Spouse... That's what I'm here for.

Plano's tax rate is broken down like this:

city: 0.747173
Collin County: 0.332683
Plano ISD: 1.578400

total: 2.38

Note that a part of Plano is in the Frisco ISD, in that case Frisco ISD tax rate is 1.580000. Making the total tax 2.65

Also, another part of Plano is in Denton County with Lewisville ISD: that would make it

city: 0.747173
Denton Couny 0.231920
Lewisville ISD: 1.640000

Total Tax: 2.61

Plano is a nice place to live. Good luck to you.

OUCH! yeah, I think I'm liking the 2.68% in Keller much better than anything above 3%... it will drastically put a limit on how much I want to spend on a home. Initially I was looking at a 300-350k range but with so much in taxes I think it makes sense to lower my range to 250-300k and not live too tight...

thanks again!

We bought in Keller in the range you are looking at, you get a lot for your money. The schools are great and so are the communities. Just be careful that you are not in a Fort Worth zip code. I have been told that many people have bought in Keller ISD not knowing that they were actually going to be paying higher taxes because they had a Fort Worth zip code.

To my knowledge the USPS only has 2 zipcodes in Keller and according to their site 76244 is for P.O. boxes. We live in 76248 also.

76248

Any idea on the rates of the Azle and Springtown area? I am thinking about relocating to that area and am unsure as Texas Taxes seem to be so high. (We live in New Mexico now). We want someplace a little more country with place for animals yet good schools. Your breakdown of Taxes is great and very helpful.
Thanks!
