I have a property in SW Arlington and I want to replace the HVAC system while it's still vacant. Anyone have recommendations for a good A/C & Heating company? The AC tech that I've been using has become somewhat unreliable so I don't want to use him for a new install.

she might work in your area...her business has gotten so big/busy that she cut back on service area...but she is only one I would recommend and we have used several local companies over the years...
the MOST honest and knowledgeable person (man or woman) I have ever dealth with in the HVAC field---
she was taught the business by her dad who was a minister--
she makes no attempt to upsell you and frankly said that if you the proper maintenance on your system that is more important than a service contract
We had a recueent problem with 5 yr old house we bought several yrs ago--because the HVAC piping wasn't installed correctly--something the home inspector certainly didn't notice or tell us was mistake--
the condensate would run out the overflow PVC and drop out on our driveway side--staining the brickwork...
She came by 4 times--not because she didn't know what the problem was--but because she didn't want to make an epensive repair if less expensive changes would help--
well they didn't--
eventually she had a friend who is plumber come and rework the overflow PVC in attic and we haven't had problem since...and him we did pay for his services--but can't complain--did great job--
Peggy came 4 times over fairly long time frame--she charged me once--the first time
even though all the visits took at least 30 min and 1 was more like 90==
she said I paid for her to fix it the first time and she didn't--so no charge...
The young man she works with is same way--

I went with B & B strictly because of pricing.... I had 2 quotes and wanted a third and was going to call your recommendation when I spotted an ad for a 4 ton Trane heat pump system for $3800 installed. Couldn't resist that price......They have a "B" rating and 13 complaints at the BBB, so I am cautious. The first year of installation is full warranty, so will hold my breath that it's a smooth first year. It's for a rental property, so budget is a big factor.

BBB complaints are something to consider but if the company resolved them in positive, prompt way then that isn't as bad as 5 that are ignored IMO...

They did resolve all complaints. I am paying $100 extra for having the filter changeout in a convenient space. That might be a little bit of a scam because I don'tsee where else it makes sense to change a filter. So total price was $3900. Installed yesterday. Took 6 hours. That is a screaming deal for a brand new 4ton Trane HVAC system with heat pump. Usual warranty, 1 year labor. But usually if the first year goes smoothly on a new system, the years ahead are pretty trouble free with good maintenance. Let's hope this was a good install.
