Hey Fort Worthers! Need your expertise. Relocating to FW soon for work, near I-35W and 820 (sooooo looking forward to that mess of traffic.) Anyway, looking for condos or townhomes to buy in the area. Would prefer something brand new, or relatively new. All I can find are single-family homes. But it's just lil 'ole me, I don't want/need a big single family home. Looking for a 1-2 bedroom, maybe 1000 SF. And I don't want to rent anymore, such a waste of money. I am somewhat familiar with the Alliance/Haslet/Roanoke/Keller/Southlake/NRH areas. Would prefer to be in these areas. Are there any condos available outside of downtown FW? Are townhomes to buy completely out of the question? All I can find are townhomes to rent in these areas. All new townhomes for sale are being built in Dallas and farther east suburbs, at least that's all I can find online.

Thanks all for any help you can provide!

I looked on realtor.com and limited the search to condos/townhomes and while there are some out there, most are older or not in areas that would work for you.

I did see some right off I-35 and Western Center Blvd. Subdivision called Carrington Court. I know nothing about them and they looked like they back right up to I-35 on the map. One in that subdivision listed a 2008 build. Another said completion in July. So very new?

Mostly though, because Texas has so much land, townhomes and condos have not been a thing outside of the downtown areas and that really just started relatively recently...within the last 15 to 20 yrs...after Sundance Square started taking off in the early to mid 90's?

I lived back east for several years before returning to Texas and condos and townhomes are much more normal there than they are here. For now.

Good luck.

I would let a realtor do your homework. It will be easier to find a 2br starter home in that area.

Use search function at CD - we recently had a poster looking for a realtor to sell a remodeled condo in DFW.

check for zero lot homes--no joined sides but side facing neighbor's house has few windows for privacy effect--better resale than condos--there aren't any outside of metro FTW--
there are some in Keller area I believe to east of where your job would be and probably some in Fossil Creek area north of 820--can use surface roads to get to your job
you also might check Denton--some new townhomes built close to city center recently

in Keller specifically Keller Town Center has townhomes--one plan is 2/2.5 but others are larger
in the area of NRHills that borders north Precinct Line there is small development with zero lot homes--most are 3/2 homes and probably more than you want to pay

Look for villas and patio homes (zero lot as L2R has already suggested). There are pretty new condos in Southlake. Expensive. What's your budget. Also some nice townhouses and condos in zip 76102 that might be a great reverse commute for your work.

That's a nice unit, but it's awfully close to the I30 overheads, and is going to be noisy. Also, the complex has security for a reason...
