Hey,

I have resided in West Dallas ( HEB Area ) for the past two years my lease is ending soon next year fall and I wanted to look for other areas to move to. I don't really have a problem with the HEB area but i am noticing a huge increase in rent/mortgage here which is eventually going to price me out. Sure I could pay 1000-1500$ but why lol . I am an IT professional who works remote and single millennial male. My main wants would just be lower cost of living ( 700-900$ ) , basic amenities , close to an airport ( 1-2 hours is fine ). I don't really need to be deep in fort worth a suburb or town near it is fine with me. Don't care for party or night life either.

I was considering places like San Angelo , Abilene or Waco. But someone had mentioned Fort Worth so I figured i added it to my research.

If there is any other area , town or city I need to consider please let me know and thanks in advance.

Weatherford or Stephenville if you don’t mind living in a small town.

None of the three cities you mentioned have a decent airport. All of them are small, regional airports that only have commuter flights back and forth to DFW.

I honestly cannot think of any decent-sized city that will have rent that low in a safe neighborhood. Weatherford is too close to Fort Worth, and Stephenville is a college town, so they will both have higher rent. You might consider getting a roommate, or changing jobs to increase your salary.

Airports back to DFW airport is fine with me actually I wouldn't mind Weatherford if its affordable. I already mentioned I can afford more but don't thinks its needed to pay all that rent for no reason when I work remote.

thanks for the feedback though

Good luck. I haven't seen rent that cheap in this decade...

I am as adventurous as anyone and I would be pretty scared of anything in Fort Worth or the immediate surrounding suburbs with rent that low. To get anything that low and safe, you're probably giving up something in the way of retail conveniences.

Weatherford will not be "Small Town" for much longer. I was out there not to long ago and development is starting
