Ok everyone- I need a favor please. Taking the dad to Lunch Saturday- he has always wanted to go see the Cattle Hurd in the Stock yards- so this is what we are doing. We don't travel to Fort Worth often and I need some recommendations please.

1. Best Resturant for lunch with the best views
2. Where do I park- is the parking like Downtwon Dallas?
3. Any other places we should check out?

I know, I know I can Google up a storm and find everything- but I want people that live and experiance Fort Worth to give me the real scoop- I mean anything can be stated in Yelp...right

Thanks again

For a restaurant meal, take him to the Reatta Restaurant in downtown FW. The stockyards are off 28th and any of the restaurants there are good. No real views from the restaurants will have to go out and watch the drive. Of course, you will have to take him to Billy Bobs later.

Parking isn't a problem around the stockyards so I don't think you'll have an issue. I'm not sure of restaurants directly in that area but not too far away off N. Main are El Rancho Grande and Joe T. Garcia's. IMO the food at Rancho Grande is far superior to Joe T's but I'll admit the atmosphere at Joe T's is better with the patio, pool, etc. There are lots of good restaurants downtown, which isn't far at all. Reata comes immediately to mind if you're looking for something with a view. We like The Woodshed, which is off University south of I-30 at the river, but the views aren't of the city like Reata. It's casual, mostly outdoors (with lots of umbrellas, fans, and misters but has an indoor area, too), and overlooks the river. Search for restaurants via Google or Yelp and you'll find a bunch. Have fun!

Reata downtown has excellent food and truly Texas decor. Their rooftop bar is the perfect place to relax in the evening!

BTW, Reatta has valet parking right at the door, so parking is not an issue.
