that is a HUGH, HUGH deal--I don't know why more people aren't excited about it--and they say Irving but it is really more like Grapevine/Lewisville area for what I remember about the street coordinates--which will be really good for the mid-cities---

Well, I guess the question is, how many people who need work around Irving happen to be looking in this forum?

The other factor may be, "What sort of jobs will they be?" After all, how many people are Blackberry Developers, etc?

The software developers are just one aspect of product development. There will be graphic artists, technical writers, hardware designers, shipping personnel, user interface specialists, product marketing, and a whole slew of other support jobs that helps put these things out the door. I worked in a similar environment several years ago and software, although it is what probably 60 percent of what the product is based around, is only one aspect of the product. You need people to write help text, graphic artists for illustration, technical writers to develop product documentation, marketing specialists, product managers (to push a developing product along in its lifecycle), and so on.

Yes, RIM is already at Las Colinas, fortunately for the latino community since the call center being opened there is going to be supporting the hispanic market. (latin america and spain). So, if you plan to apply for any future opening, just make sure you are Bilingual.
