One pitfall about living in Arlington and trying to commute to Hurst: there are only a could bridges across the Trinity River, so you are really limited on what routes you can take to work. Also, many of the roads in between those two cities are still rural, 2-lane roads, and they just cannot handle the traffic so it backs up horribly. I work in Arlington, and I have made the mistake of trying to drive to Northeast Mall after work, and ended up sitting in traffic on Precinct Line for over an hour...

I commute regularly between Irving and Arlington -- for rental properties-- and I am going there in the mornings. Never an issue; but I generally take 157 or Hwy 360 and its a reverse commute with all the traffic headed north in the morning and south in the evening. Possibly it would be different from S. Hurst where maybe a lot of traffic is going south in the morning to FTW. Not sure....
