We may be close to purchasing a home in Benbrook and have not had any luck finding a good home inspector. We've had one recommendation but they seemed fairly incompetent. We do not know anybody else to ask for recommendations since we're new to the area. Do any recent home buyers here have a recommendation?

Mike Killion with Alliance Inspection Service. (I think they serve the entire Metroplex, but you might want to check - 972-681-2212.) He is VERY thorough and detailed, and he explained everything to me while actually showing me the issues. I ask a lot of questions, and he was able to provide answers. He also told me what the high priority repairs were, which really helped me prioritize what items to negotiate with the seller. He provided a 14-page thorough report that included photos.

We used US Inspect. Our Coldwell Banker agent recommended them and they did a great job for us. Very thorough and provided us with a report and binder with all the suggested changes and things to be aware of. It did take about three and a half hours for ours.

We bought a house that didn't have a warranty so we also used a very thorough structural engineer to test our foundation. He was a very sweet man that was way beyond what we could have imagined.

Wall-2-Wall Home Inspections and was satisfied with the home inspections' work. In fact, I used him twice - once before closing and then again about a month before my builder's 12-mo. warranty expired. Here's their info.:

Thank you. Checked him out and having an inspection tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have an experience as good as yours.

It went very well. Brian was excellent. We'd definitely recommend him. Closing in two weeks.

Glad it worked out! Yes, he's great. If it's a new home that has the builder's warranty, I recommend getting a re-inspection about a month before the warranty expires. Good luck w/ closing.
