You might check out the Fort Worth Zoo, they usually have events on New Years Eve. . .you might also check the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. Both of these should have websites. You need to be careful on New Years Eve in Cowtown, just like any big city there are lots of folks on the roadway who may have over-celebrated.

Boy you are right about the over celebrating and driving. We don't plan on straying too far from home tonight. That has been my only disappointment about moving to Texas. It seems that there are a lot more drinking related traffics accidents than the norm. I guess defensive driving would be the best bet.

It's really sad but all the hotels and large venues only cater to the drunks. There are not very many family friendly places to spend New Years. We end up at home playing games with our kids because we don't want to be on the road with all the drunks. Invite some friends over for some good Wii games or board games and let the kids have some loud poppers for midnight.

Fondue is always fun on nights like this - the kids really like it and they usually have specials going on. Melting Pot is our favorite Good Luck!

Try the new wolf lodge in Grapevine. That place is very kid freindly. Does it cost money, sure it does, nothing is free, but is fun.
