Relocating to Ft Worth. Mansfield vs Keller? (Fort Worth, Arlington: house, transfer)

Hey all.

I just got a notice that I will be relocating to Fort Worth to work at the Bell Helicopter plant east of town.

We are moving with two small children (infant and 3 yr old). We are down to two cities, Keller and Mansfield. Obviously, safety and education are number one priority. 30 minute commute is about the max I can handle.

we are looking around 250k, which I know limits us, especially in Keller.

Or, if anyone can recommend another suburb, we could use any information we can get as we are coming from the east coast.

Both of those cities will be at the max of your desired commute time. Honestly, in your price range, you should look much closer to Bell in Hurst, North Richland Hills and Bedford. All three of those will have older homes in your price range, and the schools (HEB ISD and Birdville ISD) are just as good as Mansfield and Keller ISDs.

We just relocated and ended up in West Arlington. We love it! Look at homes around Ditto elementary.

We are getting very close to our house hunt. Can anyone say anything about timber creek HS? Everything we've looked at, in our price range, seems to be feeding to that school.

Additionally, has anyone ever had any luck in an intra-district Keller ISD transfer? For example, Timber Creek to Keller HS... or is that just not possible?

My kids attend Timbercreek HS. It is a very good area and good schools. You will have a difficult time finding something around $250K by Keller HS but certainly no problem by Timbercreek.

From what I can tell it's very easy to get transfers within kisd at least at the elementary level.
