Chuy's is solidly Tex-mex, not mex-mex. Decent food for a good price.

I ate at one in Austin a few years ago--it was good.

I tried to ignore the silly decor (Elvis garbage)--just weird. I haven't ever been to one out of Austin, so I have no idea whether all of them look as strange as the original.

Good fish tacos and stacked enchiladas. The rest is just meh.

But it's still better than El Fenix.

My older daughters eat there every time they get a chance because they like it so much. I went with them one time to the West 7th Street one and it was fine, but not as good as they built it up to be, for me anyway.

They say the ones in that particular family/chain are the ones that are good, but that the others with the same name but not the same family/chain are not as good.

Their salsa is good, the chips are thick -- which I like

Went to one in Southlake tonight--crowded--
had 35 min wait after getting there about 610
food was ok--wouldn't say it was "great"
I had chicken enchiladas w/the deluxe tomatillo sauce--
the filling was basically chicken breast--no sauce inside--
seemed like maybe the tortillas were filled and rolled then went into oven just minute and then sauce poured over--

husband had cheese enchiladas w/tex mex sauce--he liked them
friend has two soft chicken tacos w/like fajita chicken pieces in

chips and salsa were good--but our chips while warm (which I really appreciate) were thin and broke fairly easily in the salsa
margarita was good
service was ok considering how busy they were
