We will probably be moving to the Haslet area in the next couple months. Is this a good area? We have one preteen so school is important. Lack of crime is VERY important. We plan on buying right away since we have pets we are not willing to give up. We will be looking in the 150,000 range. We currently drive 30 minutes to work so a commute is fine. One other question is there a Merry Maids in the Fort Worth area?

Check with Ft. Worth ISD when the new HS off Blue Mound/Willow Springs will open.

150k will get you a fixer fixer upper or a 2br in a community such as Senderra Ranch in Haslet. 30 minutes are not a commute

New HS is Northwest ISD, not Fort Worth. It opens in August.

OP - The Haslet area is nice and the schools in NW ISD are good, crime is everywhere but there are not many complaints in this area. With your budget, you are probably going to be looking at 3/2, ~1500 sq ft starter homes. If you are looking for something bigger, you will likely need to increase your budget.

Good luck!

Commute depends on where you are working. 35W into Fort Worth is a war zone at the moment.

150K will be very difficult to find in and around Haslet.

We love the convenience that the area offers to shopping and restaurants (We live in Tehama Ridge). Crime is rarely an issue outside of petty stuff like property thefts from vehicles left unlocked, etc.
