Hello Fort Worth Residents,

I am moving to Fort Worth in a few weeks and was wondering which areas I can explore to live in. My work is near Lou Menk Drive so suggestions of good apartments around that area will be greatly appreciated. Help a new person out, will ya?

Thanks,
NewGirl

That's the Fossil Creek area in north Fort Worth. It's mostly businesses and apartments up there, and a few single family homes. Zero nightlife. The commute from there to downtown is currently awful due to the I35W reconstruction project.

Im very familiar with the area. More so than Christie P. The commute is not awful. It isn't pleasant but awful isn't the word for it. It all depends on where you live. I've gotten to Cabelas frim downtown in 20 mins during non rush hour. I could get to Fossil Creek from downtown in 10mins on a good day and probably 20mins on a traffic packed day using alternate routes.

The nightlife isn't zero either. Plenty of bars, restaurants and brestaurants in that area. Its not my kind of nightlife scene so I'd rather go to downtown or 7th street.

As far as apartments,, i usually caution about living south of tarrant parkway. There are always exceptions to this, especially in fossil creek. Just be smart. You get what you pay for. Another suggestion would be to drive the parking lot of your next place and look at the value of the cars. Are most of them cheap&run down or well kept&over $15k-20k. You get what you pay for so pick a spot that prices out the low class. No 1bedrooms under $800

Wow, brilliant idea!!!

And I also suggest checking the ratings on Apartment Ratings...

But Fossil Creek does have some nice apartments - so you should be able to find something good there.
