My nephew lives in Fort Worth and he was telling me that they are planning on building a riverwalk similar to the one in San Antonio. I tried to find more info about it on the Internet but I couldn't find very much. Does anybody know what the plans are? And how will it eventually compare to the one in San Antonio?

I wrote a rant once against the Riverwalk. Truly disappointed. I guess we are spoiled in Fort Worth with the Bass Brothers and their Private Security/Police Department. I went a little over a year ago and didn't feel safe at all, it was very run down and "ghetto" and I mean that with all due respect. I kid you not some guy was knocked out on the stair case with a needle sticking out of his forearm. People smoking pot, people selling cd's and soliciting the heck out of me. And so many homeless. I was with my girlfriend and we ended the night early. Never going back.

Looks like Panther Island progress will be picking up dramatically in the coming months. It will also involve the announcement of some new buildings. Should be fun.

I am praying for some high rises, or higher than your typical 7th street 4-6 story buildings. We needed density but good god not so much of the same. Something in the 8-20 story range would be nice. Give it a nice look.

I'm just telling you now that the tallest buildings you'll most likely see will be around 25 floors.

But on the bright side, it'll create a more urban environment that's less intimidating. It'll be a mix of what you see in the Upper Westside (between Henderson and the Trinity) and West 7th. What will be more interesting it seeing exactly what will happen with LaGrave Field since the owner packed up and headed to Houston, leaving it abandoned.

San Antonio's Riverwalk was once a truly authentic place. Now it's just a place infested with chain restaurants you can find in any strip mall, next to shallow dirty water, which smells great, by the way. I only go there when I have a visitor from out of town that insists on going. Hopefully, Fort Worth will class it up a bit, and build the walkways a little wider. The Woodlands has a much smaller one, but it's beautiful.

Don't forget the town lake and Vancouver-esque building design.

I wonder what will become of The Coyote Drive-In... I know it was meant to be a temporary thing, but a lot of people have grown to love that place.
