What can you tell me about Mansfield?

We visited 2 yrs ago and plan to come again in April. We fell in love with the homes on Oak Run Lane. Can't remember the builder, maybe Paul something.
Also, there was this one house on Yukon we loved! Are they good areas?

Anyway, I have 5 children so schools are a big question. I have a son/QB football player interested in the HS w/ the Timberwolves. How are the HS?

Do all the children get bussed?
What month does school start, end?
Classes crowded?
Are schools frequently redistricted?

We will be there in April, do you think the schools would let my children tour if I called in advanced?

Thank you for your help

I can only tell you about my past experience living in Mansfield for 6 month . My son was than in 4th grade and I loved Alice Ponder grammar school, the Principal was very nice and my son also liked the school a lot. When I moved back to Chicago, I heard that the principal and a few of the teachers were going to a new school. One of those teachers was my don's old teacher, He was great!
I can't remember the name of that school, but my nieces attend school there and they like it a lot. IT is west of 287 and south of Debbie Lane.
I have a brother that moved from Chicago about 7 years ago to Mansfiled and he likes it a lot. We may be moving back , this time for good as my oldest daughter met her fiancee during our 6 month stay and she will be moving to Texas. I personally like Mansfield a lot, because it has a lot of new houses, great shooping and restaurants and you can still feel a little bit like you are close to the Country. I also like Rendon, because you can still buy a lot of house and land. I hope this helps! I know that when I was looking into the schools they were always very helpfull and willing to shows us around.
