My wife and I have 6 kids and we are moving to the Fort Worth Area, she is finishing school (UTA) and I am will be attending seminary. What are some good (safe, lower crime) areas to move with a big family? I am familiar with Dallas but not so much with Fort Worth.

A couple of the areas we have been looking into are Flower Mound, North Richland Hills, Euless. Any recommendations or gotcha's would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bedford and Hurst in the HEB district come to mind--some parts of north Hurst are in Grapevine Colleyville ISD, some parts of NRHills -- Birdville ISD--
all are convenient to UTA and the FTW seminary

Default moving to ftw w/ large family

In my opionion North Richland Hills and that area has to much traffic and congestion. Flower Mound is a nice area but you will pay more to live there. Also you and your wife will be far from uta and the simanary. Trust me, the closer you live to work and school the happier you will be! I live in Benbrook which is in the Southwest part of Ft Worth and we love it. This area is near everything and anything you would want to do. We have homes priced in every price range. You should check it out.

I am assuming since you will both be in school you are all on a tight budget. Colleyville will probably be out of the question. Benbrook would put you close to both UTA and the Seminary and probably on the more affordable side. Other areas to map out: Mansfield and Keller. Keller would put you closer to the seminary and about 25 minutes from UTA with no traffic. Mansfield would be the opposite (closer to UTA).

North Richland Hills was named one of the 100 best places to live in the US last year.

Good schools (Birdville ISD). Someone mentioned congestion, but not where I live. Maybe they are thinking Rufe Snow, especially before it was widened???

I love the curfew law here.....11PM weeknights and 12 on weekends if you are under 18 (exceptions made for work, church, school, or family functions)
